The JReid InDeed Foundation focuses on Technology, Nutrition, and Athletics. It also plays an active role in supporting the community, which is why they invited us to participate in this internship—to help share important information from the American Heart Association.
Founded by Justin Reid, JReid InDeed is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting underserved youth and communities through impactful programs, community engagement, and access to technology. The foundation is especially committed to helping children in less fortunate areas.
The Tackling Tech Internship program gives high school students the opportunity to get experience in the workforce as well as technology and project management. This program is responsible for the creation of this website and the projects related to it.
Justin Quintin Reid is a professional football player and philanthropist, previously serving as a safety for the Kansas City Chiefs and now a part of the New Orlean Saints. Born in Prairieville, Louisiana, Justin was raised in a family that emphasized strong values, discipline, and a commitment to excellence. These principles guided him through his academic and athletic journey, eventually leading him to Stanford University, where he studied Industrial Engineering.
Justin Reid was drafted into the NFL in 2018 by the Houston Texans, where he quickly established himself as a reliable and intelligent defensive back. Known for his versatility, speed, and leadership on the field, Reid became a key player in the Texans' secondary. In 2022, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he continued to shine, contributing to the team’s Super Bowl victory and earning recognition as a Super Bowl Champion. He was then signed with the Saints in 2025 and heading to New Orleans.
While at Stanford, Justin became acutely aware of the digital divide affecting underprivileged youth. This realization inspired him to launch the JReid InDeed Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities in Houston, Baton Rouge, and Kansas City.
The foundation’s mission is to equip and fund youth and community initiatives in underrepresented neighborhoods. It focuses on three core pillars:
